时光荏苒，今年过得特别快，新的一年很快就要到来。而每年的更替，亦是不同的生肖年，今天我们来聊聊十二生肖（ChineseZodiac）的英文表达及相关谚语。

【Chicken?Rooster?Hen?Cock?】

Chicken:食用肉鸡/小鸡仔，任人宰割，反抗力量弱，指代很好欺负的，胆小的，懦弱等性格之人。

Rooster:特指公鸡，多用于北美，澳大利亚，新西兰--即美式英语用词。Roost指“鸟窝；群栖的禽鸟；栖木”，在动物界里，雄性动物常作为保护领地的“一家之主”。公鸡昂首挺胸--狂妄自负的人。

Hen:一般用来指雌性动物，如母鸡，雌性家禽，甚至可指代雌性龙虾。用与egg绑定使用。。渐渐在俚语中指代女性，但不用于正式场合。

Cock:公鸡，主用于英语和爱尔兰--即英式英语用词。Cock来自古英语，含义丰富。名词：“公鸡，水龙头，头目……”；动词：“竖起，耸立，朝上……”。
