too...to...使用注意事项

tooto…意为“太······而不能······.”使用时,我们应注意以下几点:
(1)如果句子的主语和动词不定式的逻辑主语不一致,通常用for导出其逻辑主语.请比较:
’tfallasleep.
=Heistooexcitedtofallasleep.他太兴奋而睡不着.
’tmoveit.
=Thedeskistooheavyforustomove.这个桌子太重,我们挪不动.
(2)tooto中todo的宾语实质是前面的主语,故不可在后面加it.例:
Thequestionistoodifficultforustoanswerit.（×）
Thequestionistoodifficultforustoanswer.(√)这个问题太难,我们回答不出来.
(3)tooto可以和sothat或enoughto进行转换.例:
Hegotuptoolatetocatchtheearlybus.
=Hegotupsolatethathecouldn’tcatchtheearlybus.
=Hedidn’tgetupearlyenoughtocatchtheearlybus.他起的太晚,而没赶上早班车.
